Welcome to Crosswind Landing!

This site is designed for the aviation enthusiast, by an aviation enthusiast. I began to create these pages back in 1996 during my years as an undergraduate student working on my own aviation career. As the time has passed, I have continued to add new information. This site is a continual work in progress, so please bear with me... Crosswind Landing is the new version of my old site, Josh's Fly Inn. As time permits, I will gradually being the process of moving the materials that are on the old site to this new address and server, as well as reformat the old pages into a more user-friendly layout.

Please check back often, as I have a bit more time on my hands right now to update stuff. On average, it takes about a day to add a page of new material to the site. I'll do my best to keep things moving along! As always, feel free to offer any suggestions or additions to the site.

If you would like to be emailed when periodic updates to this site occur, please send me a message and let me know! I promise that I won't send you any unsolicited spam or sell your email.

Webmasters note: (July 22, 2006)

Okay. I'll admit. I must have Adult ADHD... because it seems like I start a project and then let it sit for months on end without any additional progress. This website is a perfect example... 3 years after first getting it up and running and it's still an empty shell of broken links and empty pages. But what is here I hope that you find somewhat useful!

I've recently added some new material to the student pilot section and the career center section. For students, there are now a few (limited) downloadable resources that might help you out in training. I'll try to get one or two more things added in this week before my attention span get the best of me again.

In the career section, I continue to plod away at pages... it's slow going since I have to essential write each page one at a time and it takes about 2-3 hours for each page. If you want some additional info, please feel free to visit the career center at my old website: http://people.aero.und.edu/~jshields

Finally, I also made some minor corrections to the aircraft accident memorials page thanks to some kind emails from relatives and folks that have visited the site.
